Gus founded Team Alvarez Insurance Services in 2008 driven by his belief that he could improve the way insurance was delivered to customers. As the highest producing Medicare Insurance agent at Cornerstone America out of 4700 agents nationwide, and a winner of the prestigious Ring of Honor with a seat in the Million Dollar Producers Club, when it comes to insurance, Gus knows what works, and what doesn’t.
Gus remains the company’s full time recruiter, personally choosing each and every new agent that joins Team Alvarez. Those who know him best attest to his commitment to finding new methods and better opportunities to increase the success rates for the Team of agents. And that success is founded on the ability to improve the customization and personalization of services provided to all clients of Team Alvarez. Gus is also the founder of InTouch Marketing.

Theresa Henry, Vice President
As an ER Physician’s Assistant, Theresa brings her 20 years of Emergency Medicine expertise to Team Alvarez as our clinical consultant. Still an active member of California Emergency Physicians Medical Group (CEP), Theresa’s experience and expertise is invaluable to our efforts in providing our clients with clinical recommendations aligned with the expectations of modern medicine.
Patricia Dominguez, Administration
Patti is one of our busiest employees at Team Alvarez. She has worked in the Customer Service field for many years and is the handler of executive administration while at the same time serving as the office manager at Team Alvarez. As a licensed insurance agent, she is well qualified to assist beneficiaries with their Medicare needs as well. Patti also holds a license in Cosmetology and works on the weekends doing hair and makeup. Patti is also currently attending college to acquire her AA in Business Administration.
Lizette Mazariegos, Administration
Helping seniors is one of the things Lizette loves and is a valuable member of the customer support team. She brings a positive professionalism to her job and is eager to tackle the healthcare concerns of seniors.
Alexsondra Avila, Compliance Officer
Prior to coming on board with Team Alvarez Alexsondra worked many years in the compliance department for a corporate agency assisting recruiters with legal documents and audits. Here with us she enjoys the challenges of accomplishing new tasks and continuing her industry education to assist Team Alvarez and its agents with proper policy procedures.
Gina Corrales-Jackson, Receptionist/Enrollment Department
Gina has over 25 years of customer service and sales experience, with half of those years serving in a managerial role. She also worked three years as a certified medical assistant.
Marci Chavez, Contracting & Licensing
With over 15+ years of Customer Service, Marci joins Team Alvarez with over 5 years of contracting experience in the Medicare Advantage field. Marci previously worked with Word and Brown as a broker service rep, assisting field agents in their contracting needs.
Arlin Flores-Ramirez, Executive Assistant
Arlin has over 5 years of Customer service experience. She started off as the Receptionist, and was part of the Enrollment department to help agents with questions regarding the applications they submitted. Arlin now works as the Executive Assistant to Gus Alvarez and Paul Combes.
Priscilla Diaz, Contracting & Licensing
Priscilla has over 10 years of customer service in the collection/auto finance industry as a supervisor. Priscilla is passionate about helping people better their lives by making a positive impact.
Mychal Abello, Information Technology
Mychal comes to us from Datcard Systems where he managed their domain, network infrastructure and computer systems. Mychal has worked directly with the United State Department of Defense to get Datcard software products certified for use at several Naval Bases. Mychal received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of San Carlos.
Lisa Knisely, Marketing
Lisa graduated from Western Governor’s University, with a Bachelors of Marketing. She came to Orange County in 1985 from a small town in Pennsylvania and spent many years at the Orange County Register, working the past 8 years directly with the VP of Marketing. Lisa most enjoys being part of the process of communicating, creating and delivering offerings that add value for clients.
Johnny Vasquez, Telesales Manager
After graduating from California State University, Fullerton, Johnny worked for ADP as Account Executive/Regional Sales Manager/ Insurance Services for over 12 years. He then became the National Account Executive for Paladin Managed Care Services. Soon after, he became a Medicare Broker Consultant for Word & Brown General Agency. Now he serves as the Manager for the Telesales dept.
Adriana Manzo, Telesales (Bilingual – Spanish)
Adriana has been with Team Alvarez for five years and still going strong. She was a customer service representative for two years, she then obtained her “Life, Accident and Health” license. Since completing her certification, she has been assisting people enroll in various health plans that best fits their needs.
Val Mayer, Telesales
A former wedding and event photographer, Val has been a licensed insurance agent intermittently since 1999, and has been a telesales agent with Team Alvarez since 2015. As a Medicare beneficiary himself, he is especially motivated in assisting people with their healthcare choices.
Lety Segovia has more than 5 years of experience working in the diverse areas of the Insurance industry, starting in El Salvador, and now working in Medicare with Team Alvarez Insurance Services. Lety loves serving the Senior Hispanic Community. Lety Segovia also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from El Salvador.
Alma Lopez, Telesales (Bilingual – Spanish)
Alma came to Team Alvarez with multiple years of experience in customer service. In 2017 Alma decided to get her AHIP license because she loves the fact that she can give clients peace of mind knowing that they have Medicare coverage.
Melissa Reyna-Rodriguez, Customer Service Supervisor (Bilingual – Spanish)
Melissa brings enthusiasm and a readiness to support in any manner she can. She has done customer service on the health & life insurance and dental industry. She appreciates that the experienced people in her team give her support and she looks forward to increasing her health insurance knowledge, so she can be of more support to her clients.
Erika Hernandez, Customer Service (Bilingual – Spanish)
Before coming to Team Alvarez Insurance Services, Erika worked in customer service for many years within the industries of retail and collections and was in charge of customer membership/retainability for a business.
Mitchelle Franco, Customer Service Representative (Bilingual – Spanish)
Mitchelle is fairly new to the insurance industry, but motivated to learn how things works. She brings enthusiasm and willingness to learn. In the near future she hopes to acquire her AHIP license to become an agent.
Jose Landa, Customer Service Representative (Bilingual – Spanish)
Jose has proven customer service experience managing teams in field distribution and operations for contribution of company growth.
Luis has been working in customer service since 2012 and in the Medicare field since 2017. Luis works alongside the contracting department to provide agent support and is in charge of on-boarding new agents.
